Think Spring! Blog Party:: Metal Pressions

Who:: Elisha @ Metal Pressions
Business Established:: Seven years ago.
What she does:: Metal Pressions handcrafts the finest personalized silver and gold jewelry. For as long as Elisha can remember she has been dabbling in all things crafty. Her forays into the handmade crafts and jewelry world started back in her college days with custom designed oil lamps that she sold to local shops. As time went on her horizons expanded into other types of crafts like stamping and scrapbooking. Around 7 years ago she was introduced into the world of hand stamped and handcrafted keepsake and photo jewelry by a close friend. Her skill and expertise developed quickly as did her passion for making beautiful jewelry.

At the time her full time career limited her to practicing her craft as a part time affair or, as her husband likes to describe it, an accelerated hobby. Like many other hand made jewelry designers around the country, the crossover from part time hobby to full time work came when Elisha left her career to raise her children. In her spare moments she somehow found the time to grow her business.
How she finds balance:: We don’t. It’s all one big blur. All kidding aside, this is a full time affair for me and my husband so we can share the responsibilities of family and work to get it all done.
Her best advice:: 1% inspiration & 99% perspiration. That’s our formula.
Get it now:: 30% off anything on the site. Use coupon code: MMP30 . This coupon will be limited to the first 10 people to checkout. And, it will expire 4/30/10.

I guess my favorite quote is a Chinese proverb: To understand your parents' love you must raise children yourself.

Now I know why my Mom always said that one of these days I would understand.

Play and win:: What is your favorite mom-related inspirational quote?

may not be 'Inspirational', but... def my Fav Mommy quote!-

"Becoming a Parent is like contracting a debilitating disease. Imagine a disease where you couldn’t sleep, you couldn’t have sex, you couldn’t travel, you had aches and pains all the time. Now, this doesn’t mean you don’t love your kids. In fact, the more you love them, the harder it is. Nobody tells you what the pull of loving your kids will do to the rest of your life–including your relationship with your spouse."-
obtained from:http://naptimewriting.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/middle-aged-mamas/
which also couldn't correctly give citation for origination except they saw it in Parents magazine, where I initially saw it also!

We should never permit ourselves to do anything we are not willing to see our children do.- Brigham Young

Gorgeous! I share your sentiment - I also make keepsake jewelry & am working on a line of engraved metal jewelry. Your work is impeccable, Elisha!

My fave mom-related quote, is actually a poem but it is the essence of my parenting:

What will
our children do in the morning?
Will they wake with their hearts wanting to play,
the way wings
should?

Will they have dreamed the needed flights and gathered
the strength from the planets that all men and women need to balance
the wonderful charms of
the earth

so that her power and beauty does not make us forget our own?

I know all about the ways of the heart - how it wants to be alive.

Love so needs to love
that it will endure almost anything, even abuse,
just to flicker for a moment. But the sky's mouth is kind,
its song will never hurt you, for I
sing those words.

What will our children do in the morning
if they do not see us
fly?

"THE WAY WINGS SHOULD"
~ Rumi ~ 13th Century Poet

It's long but I wanted to post it in case others may find it inspirational!

keep creating,

Leilani :)
